“The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.”
When you read, hear, or listen to Scripture, what is it to you?
Is it another inspiring story?
A good moral code for life?
Or a growing desire to honestly know who Jesus is?
Jesus, who became the Word of God, is telling us that His words create life, heal the heart, expose lies, and transform the mind. If you call yourself a Christian or a disciple of Jesus Christ, you must hear His voice daily, sit in His presence, consume His Word as your lifeline, and obey the Word of God by putting it into practice.
2 Timothy 3:16–17 reminds us that if we want to live a transformed life as disciples of Jesus Christ, full of life through the Holy Spirit, we must believe this truth:
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
Do you believe that all Scripture is God-breathed?
There are many conflicting narratives Satan has planted in the minds of humanity. One of the most common claims is that “men wrote the Bible,” and therefore it cannot be trusted. Yes, human beings were used as vessels to write God’s spoken Word, but let me say this clearly:
If humanity were as perfect as Scripture calls us to be, then that argument might stand. Jesus Christ would not need to be our Savior, because we would be capable of saving ourselves from sin and Satan’s power.
But that is not the truth.
Jesus came because humanity continued to fall for centuries, even while knowing God’s commands. We could not obey perfectly. We could not save ourselves.
My friends, have you surrendered to the Word of God?
The Word of God Will:
If you allow the Word of God to do this work in you, you will experience the transformation of your mind, just as the Apostle Paul calls us to do.
If you desire to live a righteous life before God, allow the Word of God, His purifying fire, to refine you more precisely than a diamond.
Then you will begin to experience true freedom: freedom from the distorted lies of the enemy, lies he uses through trauma, family, friends, society, and even your own thoughts, to keep you trapped in a cycle of defeat.
God, through Jesus Christ, is offering you eternal life.
Are you willing to surrender the flesh for a Spirit-filled life?
