John 7:38 NLT
Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, 'Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.'" (When he said, "living water," he was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in him. But the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet entered his glory.)
What drink are you consuming? Jesus is inviting you to come drink from the “Rivers of living water”. This passage brought me back to one story that I have written about previously regarding the woman at the well (John chapter 4). What burden are you carrying and feel no one would understand?
Or maybe you’re afraid of being judged or condemned? If this is where you are in your life, I have exciting news for you. Jesus is ready to accept you as you are and will transform you to what you were created to be. I personally believe as Christ’s ambassador, my charge is not to judge but to help guide people who are seeking to find the “Living water.” My conviction is simple, anyone who has the strength to conquer Satan and confesses their sins for healing (James 5:16) does not need to be scorned because Jesus came to set people free not to make them feel guilty. Nonetheless, I also believe confession alone without repentance is not acceptable by Jesus and neither should it be the norm in my life as I minister to others. Jesus usually ends his healing or deliverance by warning people to turn away from their life of sin. The Hebrew writer said it well: “If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sin is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgement and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God” (NIV). The well of God is always full, overflowing with grace, mercy and deliverance and it’s available to everyone. If you feel the world is against you and your mistakes are weighing you down, come to the well of Jesus where life changing/ cleansing is promised to “anyone who believes.”
