Weekly Reflection

Philippians 2:13 KJV

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Apostle Paul, prior to making this statement was encouraging the disciples to work out their own salvation with fear and trembling (verse 12). As you read this scripture, does this passage prompt you to think about how you know it is God who is using you as a vessel to fulfill his good purpose or pleasure?  As I have done for many years, the first week of January I prayed asking God to show me how to move forward this new year for his purpose.

I prayed asking God to open my eyes to see what only he can allow me to see.  And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, LORD, so that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha” (2King 6:17). God answered my prayer as he did when he rescued me from the Devil's camp many years ago. I went to bed one night and had a vision that shook my inner core, I woke up feeling disoriented and terrified.  The Holy Spirit instructed me not to speak about what I witnessed in my vision that night. I honestly did not need the Holy Spirit to instruct me not to speak about what I experienced because the burden of that experience is overwhelming.  Until today, I am shaken and feel unworthy by what I experienced that night. After several weeks of being in awe of the living God through the power of Jesus Christ, I was released to share the vision with one spiritual advisor. I hope to share the vision with all of you when permitted by God through the Holy Spirit. I have always asked God to use me as a vessel for his will. Less of me and more of Jesus is always my daily request.  My regular prayer for the past year has been, how can I speak unless you give me what to say? How can I go unless you send and show me the path? How can I see unless you open my eyes? Lord Jesus use me! I am not sure what Jesus has in mind for me but when he rescued me, he did say one day I will understand. I know from what I have seen that my purpose will not be easy. My God, it’s good to know that I am only a vessel being used in the army of the chief commander Lord Jesus.  When was the last time you opened yourself to the will of God to act and fulfill his good purpose through your life?
