  • 1 John 2:6

“Whoever claims to live in Him must live as Jesus did.”

As I read this passage, it becomes clear that I must know Jesus to say I believe in Him and to imitate Him.  Yes, has he risen from the dead? Why?

So that you and I can be raised from the death sentence that Satan sets for each human soul who rejects God’s word, God is inviting his sheep back into his fold through Jesus Christ to lead them back to the tree of life.

This is why Jesus said in John 8:31:
“If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.”

    My friend, it is

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

My friend, many paused last week to observe Good Friday.

But Good Friday is not just a moment in history.
    It is a divine invitation.

This was a day when Satan made many believe all was lost.
    that it was a defeat…
    that it was over.

But my friend, what seemed like a sad and somber day
It was actually a joyful day!
The very day heaven declared victory!

“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

    Light vs. Darkness

My friends, read this Scripture slowly. Then pause and reflect.

What darkness is Jesus speaking of?
If Jesus is the light, who is the darkness?

    Satan.

Scripture tells us that Satan was cast down from heaven and now works to deceive the whole world (Revelation 12:7–9). His purpose has never changed: to lead humanity away from God and into darkness.

    During a

“Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”

My friend, obedience to the Word of God is the clearest evidence of genuine discipleship in Jesus.

Anyone can say they love Jesus. Many may even carry titles such as Christian, disciple, believer, pastor, or teacher, yet remain unanchored in Jesus as Lord and Savior. Claiming love for Him while continuing in sin is deception. Jesus makes it clear that true disciples hold to His

To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.  Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

What does it truly mean to say, “I believe in Jesus”?

We live in a world where belief is often defined broadly and shaped by personal preference. It is no surprise that many profess to be Christian, yet live far from Jesus. As you read this, you may wonder, “Who are you to judge?”

You are right, I am no one special. I am simply a sinner who has spent time with the Lord and

“The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.”

When you read, hear, or listen to Scripture, what is it to you?

    Is it another inspiring story?
A good moral code for life?
Or a growing desire to honestly know who Jesus is?

Jesus, who became the Word of God, is telling us that His words create life, heal the heart, expose lies, and transform the mind. If you call yourself a Christian or a disciple of Jesus Christ, you must hear His voice daily, sit in His presence, consume His Word as

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Have you ever taken the time to sit and meditate on this verse?

I will never forget the day Jesus stirred my soul at the age of sixteen and made me still enough to truly reflect on what it means to believe in Him.

By that age, Jesus had already rescued me. I was baptized, raised as a new creation, and I was fired up, saved, and Holy Spirit–filled. The Lord had already performed miracles in my life beyond earthly explanation. Yet one day,

“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in Me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing.”

My friend, what fruits are you producing in your life?

Did you know we have access to two vines? Each of these vines has a purpose in humanity’s story. Two trees—two vines—define the entire narrative of human life:

    • The Tree of Knowledge: where humanity reached for wisdom apart from God.
    • The Tree of the Cross: where Jesus surrendered His will to the Father

As we approach the weekend that Christians around the world recognize as Good Friday, have you ever stopped to ask: What is so good about this Friday? On that day, Jesus was betrayed by a friend, arrested on false accusations, denied by those closest to Him, mocked, spit on, ridiculed, and ultimately crucified. By all accounts, it was a day of
