"You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."
Seek, and You Will Find
Have you ever felt like you don’t belong?
I remember writing my first poem titled “A Nowhere Girl.” It came from a place of feeling rejected and unloved, wanting to be accepted by my family, my friends, even strangers. I felt confused, misplaced, and invisible. That was my reality then.
Years later, when I read that poem again, I didn’t recognize the girl who wrote it… so I burned it. Now, looking back, I wish I had kept it.
Maybe you can relate.
And if you can’t, maybe this is for someone you know.
This year, as I celebrated another birthday, the Lord brought me back to a simple but powerful promise:
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
This promise was first given to the Israelites during a time of captivity, and it remains true today.
Because I lived it. I sought God, and He revealed Himself to me.
He restored what I thought was lost: my dignity, my worth, and my joy.
As a teenage girl, I developed a deep desire to know God. I explored different religions and joined different congregations, searching for truth.
Eventually, God led me to a church where I learned about Jesus, His power, His sacrifice, His love, and the Holy Spirit.
That’s when I made the decision to surrender my life to Jesus and renounced every demonic influence in my life.
My Friend…This is not fiction. This is my life.
What followed was not easy. The spirits that had once tormented me became enraged.
My body began to shut down. I couldn’t eat or sleep. I had a high fever, severe headaches, blurry vision, weakness, and fainting spells that felt like seizures. No doctor could explain it. No test revealed anything.
But this time was different.
I knew about Jesus. So, I made a choice. I would not go to the hospital.
I would either die or Jesus would heal me.
After days without food, without sleep, and completely weak, I reached a point where I was ready to die.
And that’s when everything changed. That night, I fell asleep.
In my sleep, I found myself in Haiti, walking through a place tied to my past, where sacrifices had once been made on my behalf to keep demonic spirits from tormenting me.
The town was empty.
Then I saw an old man with a white beard. I greeted him, and he responded. But shortly after passing him, I heard him crying for help. He had fallen into a well, holding onto a stick to keep from falling in completely.
There was no one else. So, I went to help him. As I pulled him up, everything changed.
The man transformed into a massive serpent. And he said, “I have come for you. You belong to me.” I fought. I recited the scriptures I had learned, but I was getting weaker. The serpent began pulling me down into the well.
And in that moment… I remembered something.
A lesson I had been taught by Minister Marlene:
Sometimes, all you need to do is call on the name of Jesus.
With what felt like my last breath, I called on Jesus. Instantly, a violent wind surrounded me. Strength filled my body. I overcame the serpent, threw it into the well, and the wind lifted me out.
As it fell, the well closed, the ground shook—and it cried out,
“I have lost you!”
The next morning, I woke up completely healed. I was able to eat. My strength returned.
All the symptoms were gone, and a few weeks later, I was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.
My friend, this is not fiction. This is my life. And I share it to remind you of this truth:
If you seek God with all your heart—through Jesus Christ—He will reveal Himself to you.
The enemy responds only to the authority of Jesus. And only Jesus has the power to restore.
The Israelites had prophets and priests. But today, you have Jesus.
John 14:6 (NIV)
“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
So today, I leave you with this invitation:
Seek Him. Don’t delay.
He is ready…and He will lead you to your true identity.
