Weekly Reflection

Romans 12:2 NIV

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

How Does Transformation in Christ Look?

Transformation in Christ begins when we are willing to reject the world’s version of truth and trust God's truth. It requires surrendering our understanding and accepting God’s Word as the foundation for thinking, living, and loving.

What Does It Mean to Be Renewed?

To be renewed means to experience a spiritual transformation through the work of the Holy Spirit, where our mind, heart, and life are changed to align with God's truth, will, and character. It is not self-improvement; it is divine rebirth. Renewal is a continual, daily process of shedding the old self and embracing the new, created to reflect Christ.

Key Scriptures on Renewal:

  • 2 Corinthians 5:17 – In Christ, we are made completely new.
  • Ephesians 4:22-24 – Renewal requires putting off the old self and embracing Christlike virtues.
  • Titus 3:5 – Renewal is a supernatural work by the Holy Spirit.
  • Colossians 3:9-10 – Renewal transforms us into the image of our Creator.
  • Psalm 51:10 – Renewal cleanses the heart and restores a steadfast spirit.
  • Isaiah 40:31 – Renewal strengthens us to endure life's journey.

Renewal is not a one-time event but a lifelong journey. God invites us daily to be spiritually reborn, transformed, and shaped into the image of Christ through the power of His Spirit and by our willing surrender.
