Romans 12:2 NIV
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Be warned about the scheme of the Devil
My research to learn about the roots of Halloween according to United states, I found that it can be traced back to the ancient religion of the Druids which was stopped by Rome due to the evil practice nature of the holiday. Halloween is rooted in a long history of a pagan festival called “Samhain” where they celebrated the day of the dead which involved sacrifices of animals, crops and satanic symbols that evolved around demonic spirits. The pagan holiday could also be traced back to the Celts of Europe who occupied parts of Ireland, the United Kingdom and northern France. The Celts believed the soul of the dead roamed the street and village at night but since some of the spirits were believed to not be nice, they left them treats to appease their evil traits.
I also learned later in history the Catholic religion attempted to counter the premise of the holiday with Saint days to give those in that faith a spiritually twisted version. I am not surprised their effort did not work because as disciples of Jesus Christ we are called to praised and worship the only true God through Jesus Christ (Isaiah 42:8, 1 Timothy 2:5, Galatians 1:6-12, etc.). Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written, “You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve” (Matthew 4:10). In the late 1900 when the Irish migrated to the United States, they brought the festival of Halloween with them. Americans (children and adults) adopt the concept through getting dressed up in costumes and eating candy in the name of fun. Over time, Halloween has become this unofficial holiday in the United States. After reading all these historical facts, where in the name of Jesus can any Christian justify their engagement in such a day of celebration? Changing Trick or Treat to Trunk or Treat and convincing yourself that because you don’t believe in the historical and purpose of the holiday, it’s okay to participate in any part of acknowledgement of the day is foolishness and disillusionment from Satan (2Thessalonians 2:10-11). The entire holiday is focused on superstitions that celebrate and glorify Satanic power. As someone who spent thirteen years of my life surrounded by the power of the demonic world, Halloween is not a fun event. They are being blinded by Satan to engage in his existence/birth celebration that is directly against God’s condemnation of Satan since the fall of mankind in the garden of Eden (Ephesians 5:11, Jeremiah10:2-3, Deuteronomy 18:9, etc.).
Growing up, the weeks leading up to Halloween October 31st up until November 3rd involve enormous preparation for the different rituals and spells that are used to celebrate and welcome the spirits of the underworld. This is the day that permission is given for the demons of the underworld to make themselves visible beyond the spiritual realm. You may ask, permission from whom, God, Jehovah? Satan and his demons have no power unless God allows him to do so (Ephesians 1:11; Matthew 10:29-31, Acts 4:27-28). I once questioned why would God allow them to access the demonic world? I was quickly reminded God gives us free will and we get to choose Him or Satan as our King. That is why Jesus during his ministry preached “whosoever” because we have a choice (Matthew 16: 25-28, Mark 8:35; Romans 10:13, Matthew20:27-29, etc.). I recalled before my family started the witchcraft celebration, they had an entire service dedicated to ask permission to open the gates of the demonic world. After that request to access the underworld, they begin their ritual celebration that includes inserting new servants into their congregation of worshipers, animal sacrifices, dancing, singing and spells prayers. I witness demonic spirits entering a person’s physical body and completely transformed their voice and personality. The manifestation of what I witnessed is taking place in different forms and ways in different parts of the world on the day of the dead, October 31st. In my upcoming book, I shared when I was a little girl, I was very sickly. My sickness was due to demons who claimed my soul and they were tormenting me. During that time, a few members of my family shared with me that there is a way to heal me from the demons that were tormenting me, but my father said he would rather bury me with the money. Consequently, for many years I resented my father and was angry with him. One day during a conversation with my father late on a Saturday night, I asked him why he said what my family had shared with me. My father told me their proposal was for them to induct me into the underworld secret pathway so that I can become a member of their satanic congregation, and he felt that was not his decision to make but my own when I became of age. The concept is I needed to be dedicated to an evil spirit to help me fight against the spirit that was tormenting me. I am sharing this story to let everyone know as you are engaging in the celebration of Halloween in the name of fun, demons are roaming the world captivating the souls of humans and are rejoicing that Jesus’ sacrifice is also foolishness to us who claim that our allegiance is to God (1 Corinthians 1:18-19). Satan is rejoicing that he can easily convince us to celebrate his existence by allowing his deceiving spirit to trick us to believing that denying the real meaning behind Halloween makes it okay to celebrate (1 Timothy 4:1, Acts 13:10, etc.).
Apostle Paul warns us to reject all kinds of evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22). Satan in a clever way has convinced many people who identify themselves as Christian or disciples that the symbols of Halloween does not matter if you don’t believe it. I would like to pose this question, since there are many people and religions who do not believe in the resurrection of Jesus, does that negate the validity that Christ has risen. The mere fact that the celebration of Halloween having any connection with Satanic practices and rituals, means we should have no part of that day. Apostle Paul is pleading with us in Colossians 3:2, to “set our minds on things above not on earthly things” and to not let the world transform our mind to their ways (Romans 12:2) If you want to give your children candy and dress them in “nice costume” you can do it any other day but not on the day where the spirit of the underworld is being worshipped and celebrated by God’s enemies. Choosing to disobey God by celebrating the power of darkness is in direct conflict with God’s warning from the book of Genessis through Revelation (Deuteronomy 18:9-14; exodus 7:11-12, Leviticus 19:26-31, 20:6 & 27, 1 Chronicles 10:13-14, 2 King 21:5-6, Isaiah 2:6; Jeremiah 27:9-10, Zech 10:2, Malachi 3:5, Acts 8:9, 16:16, 19:19, Galatians 5:16-21, 2 Timothy 3:8, Revelation 21:8, 22:15). The worst part of our choice to disobey God is leading others to join us by convincing them it’s okay to engage (Matthew 18:6). I have been set free from the trickery of Satan for one purpose which is to glorify the name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And Jesus Christ has given me this humble gift of mercy, freedom and deliverance from the Devil’s scheme to go and make disciples of all nations and teaching them who their true enemy is. Satan, the deceiver who has one purpose to use our flesh and mind to become God’s enemy (Romans 8: 6-8) will stop at nothing until we are in front of the final judge with the book of life open which will determine who will be joining Satan into the “lake of fire” (Revelation Chapter 20). Be warned! Do not compromise your faith by joining the world in what might appear as fun which is a screen saver from Satan to lure you into “perverting the gospel of Christ.” Satan’s goal is to deceive us by causing our minds to be led away from God’s truth (2 Corinthians 11;3). Let us not be thrown into confusion to participate in a demonic spirit filled day of celebration that is against every fundamental teaching of God that was brought to us through Jesus Christ in truth and life (Galatians 1:1-10, John 6:63). Jesus came as the light of God so that we no longer walk in darkness (John 12:46). You will be facing your creator on the last day. Not your pastors, ministers, clergy, teacher, elders, deacons, and whoever your spiritual community leaders might be. God delivered me from the demonic spirits of Satan and sent me, a sinner who has been rescued from the devil’s clutch to warn you to have nothing to do with fruitless deeds such as Halloween. Satan is enraged that he was defeated, and he is waging war against God’s children; and Halloween is one of the many ways that Satan is fighting to dishonor the power of Christ and elevate Satan and his demons which is a disgrace to God’s love and sacrifice to save us from Satan’s’ scheme (Revelation 12: 17). If we allow ourselves to get tricked by the enemy’s scheme, at the last day we will be thrown outside with “those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood” (Revelation 22:15). Why would you let anyone lead you to practice Idolatry and falsehood that leads you toward the path to eternal darkness? Is your soul’s destination worth the bargain?
