Revelation 21:4-5 NIV

All Things New: Choosing Eternal Hope Over Temporary Lies

He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

No matter the sorrow you face today, God’s promise remains firm—He will wipe away every tear. Pain, loss, and heartache will not last forever, for He is making all things new. Trust in His faithfulness, for His words are true. Hold onto hope, for renewal is coming!

What are you holding onto? If it is not God, then you are being deceived by Satan and his demons. Everything in this world is temporary including you. To inherit the new creation spoken of in this verse, you have a choice to make. Jesus calls us to follow Him, but that means letting go of everything the world tells us is important. Where is your security? Is it in your knowledge, status, wealth, family, friends, dreams, or the desire to possess more? Fill in the blank.

If this is where your heart is, then Satan has won you over. But remember, when Satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-11), he could not defeat Him. Jesus knew that all things belong to His Father, and Satan, the thief, had nothing real to offer.

Choose today whom you will serve. Will it be the temporary things of this world, or the eternal promises of God?
