Weekly Reflection

Joshua 1:7

Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.

When you are told to be strong it is because you are going through a difficult time.  I don’t know what is going on in your life but whatever it is God is saying be strong and courageous! Joshua was getting ready to lead God’s people who were not always easy to lead.  As God was commanding Joshua, he made a point to repeatedly remind him to be strong and courageous.  We all know when courage and strength are needed, fear is not absent.  God provided Joshua and the people of Israel with the path to success as they are getting ready to inherit the promise land.  The instruction from God was simple, obey me and you will be successful.  No matter what your trials might be today, do not give into the temptation of disobeying God’s commands. The enemy has a way of making us believe that God’s way is hard or takes too long when in reality the Devil’s ideas might seem easy or perhaps a faster route, but it always brings pain and heartache that are long lasting.  "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death" (Proverbs 14:12-KJV).
