Weekly Reflection

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

Do you believe God’s will for us is to put into practice each element listed in this passage? Do you speak to God through all your life circumstances? Or, do you only pray during the drought period in your life? Rejoice always and give thanks in all circumstances takes being purposeful and intentional through faith in God. It takes complete surrender and believing his promises are true  As I am writing this reflection, I have been struggling with sudden dizziness.

My quality of life in one week has shifted. Staying in the Word of God, reading his promises and knowing that as long as I am in this world and in this body, I will be attacked by the power of this dark world. We must decide daily that the spirit of this dark world will not guide our joyful and thankful heart no matter what life throws at us. The day will come where all our trials and tears will be no more for those who remain under the wing of Jesus as our Shepherd (Psalm 23:1, John 15:1-8, revelation 21:1-4). In your seasons of goodness and hardship, make a list of the victories, blessings, and trials that God has allowed in your life; watch your soul shout with gratitude and joy as you see the miracles in all of it.
