  • John 13:5-NIV

After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

Jesus was a servant! He did not just love with words but with actions in all that he did as he walked this earth.  Can you imagine, washing the feet of the person who you know is going to hand you over to a group of people to murder you? I don't know what your enemies have done to you but Jesus through his actions, demonstrated nothing is worth him losing his place at the right hand of the father. In the same way you should not allow anything to

But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.

When you have time, read the book of Deuteronomy. God's people were being reminded as they entered the promise land and being prosperous to remember it was God who gave it to them.  Are we any different from the Israelites in our approach toward whatever you might consider wealth or blessings?  How often do we boast about our success and forget that it is not our brilliance, academic achievements, people in power, or

  • 1 Peter 3:16-NIV

Keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.

How is your conscience?  The context of the chapter is about the humility of our heart as we tell the world about our faith and belief in Jesus Christ.  Have you ever found yourself saying, I don’t care what others think about what I do and how I live my life? I know for me, I made that comment many times before I understood what it meant to no longer live for myself as a Christian.  Since Jesus calls his followers to be the light of the world

And do not lead us into hard testing but keep us safe from the Evil One.

Throughout the Old Testament, God has always conveyed his heart for community or group not individualism. If you study Judaism, you will notice that Jesus’ prayer covers the different elements that are common in their prayers.  Jesus in his prayer reflects God’s heart.  God’s plan has always been community which he attempted to build with the Israelites. Some may wonder, why does Jesus pray for God not to lead us into temptation?  Let’s remember everything that takes place does not happen outside the will of God

  • Philippians 4:19-NIV

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

Has God met your needs?  Before you answer this question, ask yourself what is the definition of need?  The scripture did not say God will provide you with all you want. Yes, our God is a generous father. He blesses us many times beyond our needs. After you define the word need or necessity, praise God for all the blessings he has bestowed upon your life, despite the different trials you might be facing.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

What struggles or obstacles are you facing in your life today?  Who or what is the source of your strength?  Is it your knowledge, people in high places, or your success, money/wealth etc.? Do you find yourself fighting hard and the results are not turning into your favor?  Try relying on the Lord’s power.  Let the Lord Jesus be the strength in your pain and sorrow and watch him deliver you.  Nothing is too big or small for our God.  He is mighty to save, and He will never fail you.  Let Jesus be your anchor!  When we take our

And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.

We are all running a race in this fallen world! There is a spiritual war against our soul, the flesh (Sinful nature) Vs the Spirit of God (Holiness)-Galatians 5:16-18.  Both the Flesh and the Spirit have a destination at the end of this battle (Romans 8: 6). Whose army are you fighting in? Choose wisely because your choice determines which crown you will receive at the end!

  • Revelation 3:20-NIV

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person and they with me.

Jesus in this Scripture is speaking to the church in Laodicea. The people he is talking to were already claiming to be his disciples. The church allowed sins to infiltrate their lives and changed their course away from God. Jesus, being the chief priest, is calling them to return to him. When Jesus walked amongst his followers in John 14:6-7, he declared that he is the only way to God. In Revelation 3:20, he is reminding and persuading the

  • Psalm 23:1-NIV

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

Who is Lord of your life? The word Lord signifies that someone or something has full authority, power and influence over your life. That person or thing is your master and is also the source of your being. Is that who Jesus is your life? When David wrote this verse, it is obvious he was referring to how he views God’s authority in his life. God gave David the confidence that he lacks nothing as long as his creator is his shepherd. Does this message reflect your relationship with Jesus? Jesus calls us to carry our burdens to him (Mathew
